Smooth and nonporous, the wood will not absorb or trap any of the substance being ground. The natural pattern makes mortars great accessories to display in your kitchen.
Hardened by decades of Mediterranean heat, olive wood is extremely resilient. It does not retain odors and germs.
Wash only with hands using warm water and soap. Wipe with olive oil to restore the original luster.
