“Cretan Pine – Thyme Honey” was ratified as a PDO product (Protected Designation of Origin) with the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1555, of 12 September 2017. It is produced in the mountain forests of Krousta and Selakano, in the prefecture of Lassithi. There, the pine coexists with the thyme, giving a honey that is thick and dark in color because of pine, with original thyme aroma.
